Hoffman Estates was incorporated as a city in 1955. Located just northwest of Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates enjoys similar advantages of location, education and booming industry. Hoffman Estates is the home of the 800-acre site for the Sears, Roebuck and Co. Merchandise Management Group.

Transportation
I-90, Route 59 and Route 53 are major arteries accessible in Hoffman Estates. The Chicago & Northwestern commuter train lines provide regularly scheduled stops in nearby Barrington or Palatine. Ride time into the city is 50 minutes on the express train. Commuters taking Metra’s Milwaukee District line into the city can catch the train in neighboring communities of Schaumburg, Hanover Park, or Bartlett. Schaumburg Airport and Heliport accommodate small private and chartered planes.
Schools
District 54 is the largest elementary school district in the state of Illinois serving over 16,000 students. Nearly 11,500 students go on to attend District 211 High Schools, incorporating Conant, Fremd and Hoffman Estates High Schools.
Recreation
The Hoffman Estates Park District cares for over 550 acres of land incorporating 60 parks, three golf courses and two community centers. The District also sponsors a variety of fine recreational programs and facilities.
Shopping
Three shopping centers are located in the center of town featuring a variety of shops and businesses. Woodfield mall, one of the largest indoor malls in the country is located in nearby Schaumburg with over 255 stores featuring a variety of department stores and specialty shops.
Hospitals
Humana Hospital in Hoffman Estates is a 356-bed facility employing over 400 doctors. This hospital has a Level II trauma care center as well as a neonatal care center. Two senior care centers are located nearby. A 24-hour Emergency Care Facility sponsored by Northwest Community Hospital is located in neighboring Arlington Heights.
